Encosta Filly Top Seller on Day One Premier

A glorious chestnut filly by Encosta de Lago from Royal Sash was the highest priced female on the opening day of the 2008 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne when knocked down for $380,000.

The equal highest priced offering of the session, she was consigned by Three Bridges Thoroughbreds as Lot 147, the filly was secured by Nathan Tinkler’s Patinack Farm.

She is the second foal of the very good Royal Academy  racemare Royal Sash, a winner of six races and $281,850 highlighted by a Group Three victory in the MRC Mannerism Stakes.

Second highest priced filly of the session was a Tale of the Cat youngster from Settain that made $340,000 to the bid of West Australian based buyer B Fogarty.

Offered as Lot 170 by Flinders Park Stud as agent for Holme Hill Lodge, the filly is the seventh foal of stakes-placed Century mare Settain, a full sister to Group Three winner Taos and great grand-daughter of Golden Slipper winner Birthday Card.
