Group Two Victory for Hurried Choice

1st March 2008

Classy filly Hurried Choice (3f Choisir x Hustle Bustle, by Catrail) resumed form a short break to defeat the older horses with a powerful win in the Group Two AJC Challenge Stakes over 1000 metres at Randwick on Saturday.

She settled off the pace as is her pattern of racing and stormed home to score a stylish win by a length over smart geldings Keen Commander and German Chocolate.

“She’ll go for the Golden Rose now,” said winning trainer David Payne.

“She’s grown and strengthened so she deserves a crack at a race like that.”

A stakes-winner of the Listed AJC Gimcrack Stakes last season at two, Hurried Choice has now won four races from nine starts earning $337,050 for South African based owner Markus Jooste.

One of a string of recent winners sired by former champion sprinter Choisir, Hurried Choice was secured by Payne for $150,000 from the draft of Bellerive Stud at the 2006 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.

Hurried Choice is the first foal of Hustle Bustle, an unraced half-sister by Catrail to former smart stakes-winning filly Miss Bussell.

Choisir has plenty of yearlings to go under the hammer at upcoming sales in Australia including 14 yearlings catalogued for the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and a further 26 for Magic Millions on the Gold Coast.
