The feature event at Sha Tin on Saturday was the Centenary Vase HK Gr 3 over 1800 metres with victory going to the American bred Royal Academy horse Bullish Luck (9g Royal Academy - Wild Vintage, by Alysheba).The Tony Cruz trained nine year-old swept home with a determined bid to sail straight past his rivals in posting a three length win over last year’s Hong Kong Derby winner Vital King and Viva Macau.
An evergreen performer who was HK Horse of the Year in 2006 following a string of major wins including the Group One Yasuda Kinen in Japan, Bullish Luck continues to race well for connections his overall record an impressive 11 wins from 48 starts with earnings in excess of $HK61 million ($A8.8 million).
Bullish Luck is from the Alysheba mare Wild Vintage, a half-sister to French Group One winner Juvenia.
