$870,000 Colt for Encosta

Encosta de Lago fired up on the second day of the 2008 NZB Premier Yearling Sale with a couple of big results bringing his average to $349,375 with 16 of his stock changing hands over the two days.

The big banger for Encosta de Lago was the colt from Sea of Faith offered as Lot 342 by Curraghmore Stud and secured for $870,000 by Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock.

Also providing a great result for Curraghmore Stud was Lot 333 a filly from Rose Pompadour which went to Patinack Farm for $680,000 making her the fourth highest priced filly of the sale.

In fact, the only three fillies that sold for more money at this sale, were all sired by Coolmore stallions with One Cool Cat, Rock of Gibraltar and Fastnet Rock accounting for the top selling girls.
