Pleasing Debut for High Chaparral

29th January 2008

The first crop of Southern Hemisphere bred yearlings by champion racehorse High Chaparral made a pleasing debut at the 2008 NZB Premier Yearling Sale with 21 changing hands at an average price of $136,667.

A regular shuttler to Windsor Park Stud in New Zealand, High Chaparral is a six-time Group One winning son of Sadler’s Wells, whose offspring can be expected to need a bit of time to find their feet particularly in Australasia where the emphasis tends towards speed.

His top seller at Karaka was Lot 411 for Windsor Park Stud, a quality filly from Group One winner The Mighty Lions that made $300,000 to the bid of Belmont Bloodstock.

Also a fine result for Windsor Park, the colt from Kaapentyne that went to the good judge Steve Brem for $260,000.
