NZ Sale-Topper on Day One for One Cool Cat

First season sire One Cool Cat provided the sale-topping yearling during session one of the 2008 NZB Premier Yearling Sale at Karaka when his daughter from Diamond Cashel made $925,000.Knocked down to Nathan Tinkler’s Patinack Farm, the Cambridge Stud bred filly was offered as Lot 82 and is a half-sister to Group Three winner Royal Assher from the Group Three winner Diamond Cashel.
A dual Group One winning two year-old by champion sire Storm Cat, One Cool Cat shuttles to Cambridge Stud in New Zealand for his Southern Hemisphere season and his stock have been extremely well received at this sale.
At the close of Monday’s opening session, One Cool Cat was the second leading first season sire by average behind only another Coolmore horse in Fastnet Rock, his nine yearlings averaging $235,833 with other outstanding results for him being a filly from Dawn Run that made $420,000, again snapped up by Patinack Farm and a colt from Ever a Lady that made $210,000 to the bid of Hong Kong based Magus Equine.
