The first crop of yearlings by champion sprinter Fastnet Rock were the subject of keen attention during the opening session of the 2008 NZB Premier Yearling Sale where he was the leading first season sire by average and third overall.

Fastnet Rock had seven yearlings average $305,714, his top seller a slashing filly from the Dehere Group Three winner Galapagos Girl that made $700,000 when offered as Lot 137 by Trelawney Stud as agent for Cressfield.

The prize filly was secured by renowned buyers BBA Ireland and was their loan purchase for the session.

Other big results for Fastnet Rock were the colt from Baroness Britney that made $440,000 to the bid of Michael Stedman Bloodstock and a colt from Custodial that went to Patinack Farm for $350,000.
