Grand Minstrel Romps in Stakes Debut
13th December 2007
Grand Minstrel (Grand Slam -- Colonial Minstrel, by Pleasant Colony) put on a commanding performance in his stakes debut Wednesday, winning the Capote Stakes at Aqueduct by five lengths. The two-year-old colt took the lead in the opening quarter, stayed in front to the stretch, and pulled away easily when asked to win the 6 furlong contest. It was the second career win for Grand Minstrel, who has been on the board in all five of his starts.
