Classic Legend could live up to name after Listed win
5th November 2007
Trainer Brian Meehan was dreaming of next year’s G1 Oaks at Epsom after the Galileo juvenile Classic Legend (2f Galileo-Lady Lahar, by Fraam) landed the Listed Montrose Fillies’ Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.
The Barry Walters-bred filly is unbeaten in two starts, having won a maiden on her debut by four lengths, and a classic trial is on the agenda next spring.
"I like her a hell of a lot. She's pretty smart and is all guts," said Meehan. "An Oaks trial is the direction we will head with her. She was in front too soon last time and it was a little bit the same here."
