Nine Length Stakes-Winner for Danehill Dancer
22nd October 2007
Danehill Dancer has been enjoying a phenomenal season in Europe and added yet another juvenile stakes-winner to his resume at The Curragh on Sunday when Savethisdanceforme (3f Danehill Dancer - Bex, by Explodent) thrashed her rivals to win the Listed Lanwades & Staffordstown Stakes by a staggering nine lengths. The Aidan O’Brien trained filly broke her maiden two starts back at Dundalk and was so impressive she was pitched into Group One company for her next start finishing fourth in the Prix Marcel Boussac to Zarkava on October 7.
Back to Listed class, Savethisdanceforme she made light work of this assignment looking well worth the 330,000 guineas she cost at the 2006 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale last year.
Purchased by BBA Ireland from the draft of Camas Park Stud, Savethisdanceforme is raced by Susan Magnier, Derrick Smith and Michael Tabor.
She is a half-sister to Group Two winner Crimson Quest and stakes-winners Ballarat, Hijaz and from terrific producer Bex, a Group Three winner in France by Explodent.
She is one of several juvenile stakes-winners this season for Danehill Dancer in Europe joining Lizard Island, Lisvale, Warsaw and Fast Company, who finished second to New Approach in the Group One Dewhurst Stakes on Sunday.
After covering 157 mares in Ireland this year Danehill Dancer was due to serve in Australia this spring but after being delayed in quarantine at Eastern Creek it was decided to return him immediately to Coolmore headquarters in Ireland.
