Mountain keeps Chaparral on High

17th October 2007

High Chaparral’s latest first-crop winner came at Leicester on Tuesday when the John Dunlop-trained Mountain Pride (2c High Chaparral-Lioness by Lion Cavern) beat a decent field to land an extended mile maiden in some style.

Bred by Raymond Doyle, Mountain Pride is owned by Ian Cameron - whose son David is leader of the Conservative Party in Britain - and the colt looks a bright hope for next year.

"He powered away to win virtually as he pleased ... he could be a useful prospect for next season," noted the Racing Post’s Analysis.
