Gio Ponti Takes Woodford Reserve Bourbon Stakes

Gio Ponti (Tale of the Cat -- Chipeta Springs, by Alydar) kept his two-year-old campaign flawless on Sunday by winning the Woodford Reserve Bourbon Stakes at Keeneland. The colt picked up his second victory in as many tries, stalking the pace from three wide to win the 1 1/16-mile contest by a length and a half under mild urging.
