Danehill Dancer filly Pavlova so tough

8th October 2007

The tough-as-teak Danehill Dancer filly Anna Pavlova (4f Danehill Dancer-Wheeler’s Wonder, by Sure Blade) had two and a half lengths to spare over her rivals as she ran away with the G2 Prix de Royallieu Hotel Hermitage Barriere at Longchamp on Saturday.

Richard Fahey’s charge, bred by Raymond Cowie, was giving her trainer a first win in France and she could now bid for G1 glory in Italy.

"She is a legend and we’ve looked after her all her life by keeping her away from fast ground," said Fahey. "She will stay in training next year when I hope there is a wet spring. If she is in good order she might go to Rome for a G1 prize (Premio Lydia Tesio)."

Jockey Frankie Dettori was impressed with his mount and added: "They went a proper pace but I didn’t want to take any chances, so I took her to the outside and had them all cooked by the first winning post."
