Aussie Rules Relation Tops Goffs Day Two

2nd October 2007

The 2007 Goffs Million Sale Continued on Tuesday with a grey filly by Sadler’s Wells from Albanova proving the star attraction when snapped up by Demi O’Byrne for 2,400,000 euros.

Consigned by Staffordstown, she is the first foal of champion German triple Group One winner Albanova, a full sister to champion filly Alborada from the family of young Coolmore shuttle sire Aussie Rules currently serving in Australia this spring.

Rock of Gibraltar chimed in with the second highest priced offering, a superb bay filly from Spirit of Tara that made 900,000 euros for Kilcarn Stud, knocked down to DeBurgh Farrington.

She is a half-sister to Group Two winner Echo of Light and stakes-winner Akarem and her grand-dam is celebrated producer Flame of Tara.

Coolmore sires also dominated the top of the market during the first session on Monday providing the five most expensive colts and highest priced filly at 320,000 euros, a Montjeu from Majinskaya that went to the bid of Herbage Stud.
