More success for Hawk Wing
1st October 2007
There is no stopping Hawk Wing, who has enjoyed more first-crop successes in recent days.
At Haydock on Saturday, the Karl Burke-trained Barawin (2f Hawk Wing-Cosabawn, by Barathea), bred by Jim Halligan, stepped up significantly on her racecourse debut to win a mile maiden.
"She was very green on her first outing over six furlongs, but although she was still a bit green here, the extra distance and slower ground suited her. She’ll be a nice filly next year," said Burke
A few days earlier at Newmarket, Matthew Green’s colours were carried to victory by Stubbs Art (2c Hawk Wing-Rich Dancer, by Halling) when winning a competitive nursery by no less than four lengths.
Trainer David Elsworth trains the Hawk Wing colt, who was bred by Grenane House Stud, Steve Hillen and Sean Graham.
