Galileo filly scoops a Million

17th September 2007

Trainer Jim Bolger’s love affair with the progeny of Galileo continued at the Curragh on Friday when Lush Lashes (2f Galileo-Dance For Fun, by Anabaa) won 1 million euros on her racecourse debut when capturing the Parknasilla Hotels Goffs Million.

The Galileo filly, who was bred by Ann Jenkins, was bought by Bolger for 80,000 euros at last year’s Goffs Million Sale when consigned from Mount Coote Stud.

She took the seven-furlong contest in scintillating fashion, cruising home a length and a half clear of the field and earned comparisons from Bolger with his dual Guineas-winning Finsceal Beo.

"She’s on a par with Finsceal Beo at this stage," said Bolger, whose wife Jackie owns Lush Lasses. "Kevin (Manning) made the right call and she’s a very nice filly."
