54 stakes winners for Danehill Dancer
27th August 2007
The unstoppable Danehill Dancer has notched up stakes winners 53 and 54 over the past few days.
He was responsible for the most impressive juvenile winner at York last week when Fast Company (Danehill Dancer-Sheezalady, by Zafonic) enjoyed an authoritative victory in the G3 Tattersalls Millions Acomb Stakes at York.
Trained by Brian Meehan and partnered by Ryan Moore, Fast Company - who was bred in partnership by Limetree Stud - led passing the two-furlong mark and went on to record a comfortable three and a half length victory in the seven-furlong juvenile contest.
Fiona Shaw, European racing manager for US-based owner Earle Mack, said: "I've never seen a two-year-old win a G3 like that without even a flick of the whip. Ryan was impressed. He has done everything right and is a serious horse. We will have to decide now whether to go for the Dewhurst or the Champagne Stakes."
Meehan added: "I'm delighted with him and it just confirms what we've thought since January. He is a very smart individual and looks a Dewhurst horse but we will go back and discuss it with the team before we make any moves."
Stakes winner 54 for Danehill Dancer came at Tralee on Friday when Deauville Vision (4m Danehill Dancer - Alex Reveuse, by Dr Devious), who was home-bred by Takaya Kimura, won the Listed Ruby Stakes by an amazing seven lengths.
"She deserved to win a Listed race and this ground makes all the difference to her. Hopefully, she'll be able to go on from here," said winning trainer Michael Halford.
