Montjeu enjoys more Gr.1 success
27th August 2007
The great Montjeu enjoyed another G1 victory at York on Tuesday when Authorized (3c Montjeu-Funsie, by Saumarez) scooped the third top-level victory of his career when winning the G1 Juddmonte International Stakes.
It was another 1-2 in a Gr.1 for Coolmore stallions as Authorized, who was bred by a partnership including Mick Kinane, scored by a length from Dylan Thomas (4c Danehill-Lagrion, by Diesis) in the hands of Frankie Dettori to add to his previous G1 victories in the Derby and Racing Post Trophy.
Joint-owner Saleh Al Homaizi is now looking forward to the rest of the season and a trip to France with Authorized, who could bid to emulate his brilliant sire's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe success.
