Macau Cup Winner for Encosta

Encosta de Lago added a new stakes-winner to his resume at Taipa in Macau on the weekend when seven year-old gelding Let Go (7g Encosta de Lago - Receive, Our Westminster) took out the Macau Cup Mac Gr 2 over 1500 metres.Stakes-placed several times previously both in Macau and Australia, where he gained Black Type as a three year-old at Flemington under the name of Buffed, Let Go is now trained by Geoff Allendorf and has won ten races in total from 48 starts in both countries.
He becomes the 44th individual stakes-winner for outstanding sire Encosta de Lago who finished in second place on the leading Australian sires list for 2006/2007.
A $50,000 purchase from the draft of Erinvale Thoroughbreds at the 2002 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne, Let Go is the first foal of the Our Westminster mare Receive (NZ).
A half-sister to South African stakes-winner Golden Era, Receive comes from a prolific Black Type family featuring Group One winners Cronus, Envoy, Cariere and Golden Heights.
