Choisir continues to rack up

Danehill Dancer's sprinting sensation son Choisir continues to rack up the first-crop winners with Hobson (2c Choisir-Educating Rita, by Emarati) justifying 6/4 favouritism with a comfortable maiden win at Bath on Sunday.

Eve Johnson Houghton's charge, who is jointly owned by comedian Mel Smith, was bred by Hunscote House Stud.

"He really needs faster ground than this but we had to take our chance as there are not a lot of five-furlong maidens at this time of year," said Johnson Houghton.

Meanwhile the Bryan Smart-trained Choisette (2f Choisir-Final Pursuit, by Pursuit Of Love), bred by MRM Bloodstock, was an easy winner at Catterick on Tuesday.
