19th August 2007

High Chaparral’s second crop were also in big demand at Deauville.

His six yearlings sold over the opening two days’ select sessions averaged an amazing 200,833 euro with individual prices of 430,000 euro, 340,000 euro, 150,000 euro, 130,000 euro etc.

Agent Paul Nataf made the 430,000 euro transaction when buying a High Chaparral colt out of Jurata, by Polish Precedent, from the Haras d’Etreham draft on behalf of owner Enrico Ciampi.

"This colt, along with yesterday’s (1.4 million euro Galileo colt) top lot, were my picks of the sale. He looks a racy type, a very nice individual, and will join the stable of Jean-Marie Beguigne," said Nataf.

Demi O’Byrne went to 340,000 euro for a colt by dual Breeders' Cup winner out of Rose D’Or, by Polish Precedent, while trainer Jonathan Pease paid 150,000 euro for another colt out of Universelle, by Miswaki.
