52nd Stakes-Winner for Danehill Dancer
17th August 2007
The stakes-winners continue to flow for outstanding sire Danehill Dancer who posted his 52nd individual stakes-winner in England on Thursday when five year-old entire Pride of Nation (5h Danehill Dancer - Anita Via, by Anita's Prince) took out the Group Three Sovereign Stakes over a mile at Salisbury.Trained by Luca Cumani, Pride of Nation settled just off the pace before finishing over the top of his rivals and despite racing somewhat erratically over the concluding stages held on to win by a length and a quarter.
Purchased for 65,000 euros as a yearling in Italy, Pride of Nation is a half-brother to stakes-placed Highway to Glory from Anita’s Via, who comes from a good Black Type Italian family.
Danehill Dancer is one of the few shuttle stallions that are effective in both hemispheres and will cover a full book at Coolmore Australia this spring at $110,000, having been just as busy at Coolmore Ireland where he stands at a fee of 115,000 euros.
