New Stakes-Winner for Danehill Dancer
10th August 2007
Danehill Dancer posted his 51st stakes winner on Thursday when two year-old colt Lisvale (2c Danehill Dancer - Farthingale, by Nashwan) made it two wins from three starts when winning the Listed Ad Valorem Stakes over seven furlongs at Tipperary.
Bred by Rick Barnes' Grangecon Stud, Lisvale was bought for 270,000 euros at last year's Goffs Million Sale by Adrian Nicoll of BBA Ireland. His next start will be in the Parknasilla Hotel Goffs Million at the Curragh on September.
Appropriately Lisvale is owned by Moira McNamara, whose husband Bernard sponsors the race through his Parknasilla Hotel.
"He'll go for the Goffs Million (September 14th) and hopefully we can keep him safe and sound for another month," said trainer David Wachman. "He was a bit green at Leopardstown on his debut but battled well to win at the Curragh last time."
Lisvale (pictured as a yearling) is the first foal of the Nashwan mare Farthingale, a half-sister to G2-placed Cedarberg from the family of top performers like Desert Style, Barathea, Gossamer and Brocade.
Meanwhile put the name of the Danehill Dancer filly Alnadana (2f Danehill Dancer-Alnamara, by Linamix) in your notebooks.
The Aga Khan's home-bred, trained by Andre Fabre, made an ultra-impressive winning debut at Deauville on Sunday in a mile maiden. Despite missing the break, she scored by a very easy two lengths.
