Brilliant Debut Win for Danehill Dancer Filly

Danehill Dancer filly Kylie (2f Danehill DAncer - Hula Wonder, by Hula Chief) created a big impression when charging home from near last to win the juvenile maiden over 1100 metres at Randwick on the Kensington track on Wednesday.The Guy Walter trained filly was allowed to settle at the rear from barrier 11 by Danny Beasley and steamed home in the straight to win by two lengths in becoming the ninth Australian two year-old winner this season for Danehill Dancer.
Kylie races in the familiar orange and brown colours of George Altomonte’s Corumbene Stud and is the second foal of former classy racemare Hula Wonder, a Group Three winner of 13 races up to 1600 metres and close to $400,000 in prizemoney.
By former top sprinter Hula Chief, Hula Wonder was purchased for Corumbene Stud by Vin Cox Bloodstock at the 2004 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $300,000 when in foal to Danehill Dancer, with Kylie the result of that mating.
Corumbene Stud sold the current yearling colt from Hula Wonder by Dehere at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for $230,000 and she has a weanling full sister to Kylie by Danehill Dancer.
