Smart Win for Allervite

21st July 2007

Classy Choisir gelding Allervite (2g Choisir - Hit and Run, by Success Express) resumed from a spell to score an all the way win at Caulfield on Saturday in the open juvenile event over 1000 metres.

Ridden a confident race by Michael Rodd, Allervite was quickly into stride and led all the way under his 58kg to win by more than a length in his first appearance in 20 weeks.

The Gary Portelli trained youngster was placed in good company in Sydney during the autumn after breaking his maiden at Wyong on January 21.

Subsequently placed third to Hurried Choice and then second to Pistols, both stakes-winners, he ended the autumn with a sixth in the Group Three AJC Kindergarten Stakes won by Golden Slipper winner Forensics.

Allervite has now won $61,950 for his large group of nine owners with two wins and two placings from six starts and the promise of more to come.

A $60,000 purchase from the draft of Robyn Wise at the 2006 Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Allervite was secured by Vin Cox Bloodstock and is the third foal of the Success Express mare Hit and Run, a stakes-placed winner of six races and over $200,000 in prizemoney.

Hit and Run has been a regular visitor to Coolmore sires having had a Danehill Dancer yearling filly fetch $75,000 at Magic Millions earlier this year, followed by a weanling filly by Foostepsinthesand and she is due to foal this spring to Choisir again.

Allervite is one of eight Australian winners this season for Choisir who is the leading Australian first season sire by earnings.

He returns to Coolmore Australia this spring after shuttling to Ireland and will stand at $33,000.
