Mare in foal to Hurricane Run is dearest at Tattersalls

One of world champion Hurricane Run’s first book was the dearest mare in foal to change hands at Tattersalls’ July Sale in Newmarket last week.

Four-year-old Water Feature (Dansili-Shining Water by Kalaglow) had been bought in for 36,000gns at Tattersalls in December but - with a Hurricane Run cover - she changed hands for 170,000gns seven months later.

Eamonn Reilly of the BBA Ireland purchased the mare on behalf of Colin and Melba Bryce, who set up Laundry Cottage Stud in Hertfordshire four years ago.

"We’re looking to upgrade our mares and she was from a good family with a nice covering," said Colin Bryce.
