Another Group One Winner for Danehill
12th July 2007
Legendary sire Danehill is powering his way through another hugely successful season in Europe adding another Group One winner to his tally in the shape of three year-old filly Simply Perfect (3f Danehill - Hotelgenie Dot Com, by Selkirk), who defeated the older mares in the Falmouth Stakes over a mile. She got the better of South African star Irridescence by a length to claim her fourth win from ten starts and her second Group One having captured the Fillies Mile at Ascot last season at two.
Purchased for 220,000 guineas at the 2005 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Simply Perfect was bred by Trehedyn Stud and Quarry Bloodstock and is trained by Jeremy Noseda for Derrick Smith, Michael Tabor and Susan Magnier.
One of over 330 stakes-winners worldwide for ill-fated sire Danehill, Simply Perfect is from the Selkirk mare Hotelgenie Dot Com, a half-sister to Group One winner Bianca Nera.
Currently running second to Montjeu by earnings for Britain and Ireland combined, Danehill (pictured) is one of a raft of Coolmore stallions dominating the scene in Europe this year.
Coolmore based sires fill six of the top seven spots in the leading sires list for Britain and Ireland with Montjeu and Danehill followed by Galileo, Danehill Dancer, Sadler’s Wells, Pivotal, the only non-Coolmore horse, and Rock of Gibraltar.
