More black type for Montjeu

There was another black-type victory for Montjeu at San Siro in Milan on Sunday when Athlone (3f Montjeu-Almi Ad by Silver Hawk) was a smooth winner of the Listed Premio Baggio.
Bred in Ireland by William Shaughnessy, Athlone was an impressive length and three-quarters winner.
On the same afternoon Montjeu had a Classic-placed performer when Anton Chekhov (3c Montjeu-By Charter by Shirley Heights), a 625,000gns yearling bred by Robert Barnett and family, finished third in the 138th running of the G1 Deutsches Derby at Hamburg.
