Half dozen six-figure Derby Sale stores for Flemensfirth

There was no mistaking the star stallion at Tattersalls Ireland’s Derby Sale - Flemensfirth enjoyed a simply sensational two days with prices of €265,000, €220,000, €140,000, €120,000, €110,000, €100,000, €95,000, €80,000, €77,000 etc.
The €265,000 lot, a three-year-gelding out of the Mandalus mare Jennie Dun, was bred by Angela Bracken and was bought by M V Magnier for his father John.
Trainer Howard Johnson is another big fan of Flemensfirth. He won a G2 novice hurdle at Aintree this year with Tidal Bay and spent €220,000 for a four-year-old gelding out of the Don’t Forget Me mare I Remember It Well consigned by George Kent and bred by Patrick Doyle.
"I'm a big fan of Flemensfirth. This horse is a similar type to Tidal Bay and is a very good mover. I've bought him for Graham Wylie," said Johnson, who also 110,000gns for the winning Flemensfirth point-to-pointer Professor Higgins (4g Flemensfirth-Shuil Iontach by Oscar) in May.
