Mahler is impressive Royal Ascot winner for Galileo

The Galileo colt Mahler (3c Galileo-Rainbow Goddess by Rainbow Quest) marked himself as the best staying three-year-old around when running out a three and a half length winner of the G3 Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot under Mick Kinane.
Aidan O’Brien’s charge, a140,000gns yearling bred by Pegasus Racing, had finished eighth in the Vodafone Derby but bounced back to his very best to beat a high-class field at Royal Ascot.
"Mick said he was very game and we were a bit worried about the ground as he’s a very good-actioned horse by Galileo out of a Rainbow Quest mare and it was definitely not in his favour," said O’Brien.
"We thought he was a very nice horse before Epsom but he was still a bit babyish around the track. He stays well and looks potentially a high-class Cup horse for next year."
