Repeat Performance for Without Compromise

23rd June 2007

Popular trainer Greg Hickman has a happy knack of securing smart horses from the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale and he looks to have another on his hands in the shape of Orpen two year-old Without Compromise (2g Orpen - Sailor's Choice, by Yeats).

A five-length winner at Randwick on June 11, Without Compromise repeated the dose at Canterbury on Friday when he demoralized a Class Three field of juveniles in winning the 1580 metre contest by an amazing eight and a half lengths.

Carrying 58 kg with experienced jockey Grant Buckley in the saddle, Without Compromise sailed through the heavy conditions to make it two wins from four starts, his prizemoney climbing to $53,250.

Bred and offered for sale by Inverell based breeder Mr R L ‘Tig’ Moses, Without Compromise was snaffled for just $9,000 at the 2006 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale and is the fourth foal of the Yeats (USA) mare Sailor’s Choice.

Without Compromise is a half-brother to the good metropolitan winner Slick Operator and his dam Sailor’s Choice is now in foal to Antonius Pius (USA).
