Red Giant Captures Restoration Stakes

Red Giant (Giant's Causeway -- Beyond the Sun, by Kingmambo) took home the Restoration Stakes at Monmouth by a nose Sunday. Red Giant was never more than a length off the lead in the 1-mile test on the turf, raced five wide as he turned for home, bumped twice with a rival, and responded gamely to notch the win. The victory puts the three-year-old colt's earnings at more than $112,000.
