Van Nistelrooy Colt Impressive in Debut

Strike the Deal (Van Nistelrooy -- Countess Gold, by Mount Livermore) was the victor in his first start at Lingfield yesterday, breaking his maiden over 6 furlongs. The two-year-old colt broke sharply to the lead, was eyeballed by a rival on the final turn, and drew away to win by two lengths, giving freshman sire Van Nistelrooy his second Northern Hemisphere winner.
