Eight Aussie Juvenile Winners for Fasliyev
11th June 2007
In-form trainer Mark Kavanagh produced a smart debut winner at Moonee Valley on Monday when Flea Flicker (2g Fasliyev – I’m Wishing, by Mukaddamah) saluted in the 1000 metre open event for juveniles.Unwanted by punters, Flea Flicker was sent out at 25-1 but handled himself with aplomb in scoring by half a length with 58 kg on his back to become the eighth individual Australian juvenile winner for Fasliyev this season.
Retained to race by his breeder Mrs J Jenkins, Flea Flicker is the first foal of his dam I’m Wishing, a half-sister to stakes-placed Perfect Halo from the good producer Perfect Melody.
I’m Wishing produced a colt and filly by Galileo in subsequent years and is now in foal to triple Group One winner Oratorio.
