Golan juvenile is impressive debut winner

It looked a quality field beforehand but there was only ever going to be one winner of the six-furlong juvenile maiden at Leicester on Monday, the Golan debutant Golan Knight (2c Golan-Night Rhapsody by Mujtahid).

Jockey Cathy Gannon kicked for home four out aboard Kevin Ryan’s charge, bred by M J Halligan, and came home three and a half lengths clear of the field.

"He had the call from some way out and never looked like being headed" said the Racing Post’s analysis.
