Buyers Favour Fastnet Rock

Coolmore’s exciting young stallion Fastnet Rock was the standout performer among the first season sires represented at the 2007 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale with 10 youngsters averaging $147,800.His top seller came late on Thursday when Lot 809, a strapping bay colt from the Scenic mare Bumps entered the ring.
Bred by Stoney Bridge Stud and sold to a private client prior to this sale, he was offered by Glastonbury Farms as agent and fetched $370,000 to the bid of Magic Millions.
Another highlight for Fastnet Rock came on the first day of the sale when a colt from Parisilton offered as Lot 215 made $200,000, again to the bid of Magic Millions as agent.
Presented by Oaklands Stud, the colt is bred on the same cross as champion filly Miss Finland being by a son of Danehill from a mare by Woodman, in this case an unraced half-sister to Group Two winner Exclusive Halo and Group Three winner Miss Jugah.
The highest priced filly for Fastnet Rock fetched $180,000, offered by Robin Wise as Lot 463 and secured by Peter Walker of New Zealand.
A half-sister to stakes-placed Olympus from the Conquistador Cielo mare Metal of Honor, she comes from the family of Group One winning sires Gone West and Known Fact.
