Royal Ascot next for impressive Danehill Dancer juvenile

30th May 2007

Gaspar Van Wittel (2c Danehill Dancer-Akuna Bay by Mr Prospector) may have missed the break when making his debut in a two-year-old maiden at Chepstow on Tuesday afternoon but the Danehill Dancer colt recovered rapidly to run out a hugely impressive two and a half length winner.

Matthew Green’s colt, bred by David and Diane Nagle’s Barronstown Stud, was a first juvenile winner of the season for Danehill Dancer’s former trainer Neville Callaghan.

"It’s not a surprise he won because he had been working well with two others who have already been placed," said Callaghan’s son and assistant Simon. "He’s likely to go to Royal Ascot now."
