Catcher filly is Ascot bound

22nd May 2007

The first-crop Catcher In The Rye filly Eileen’s Violet (2f Catcher In The Rye-Brave Act by Catrail) is likely to next be seen out at Royal Ascot after landing a high-class Windsor conditions event on Monday evening.

The Tom Radley-bred filly - who was stepping up on a debut second at Chester a fortnight earlier - got up in the dying strides to beat another smart performer in the Choisir colt Group Therapy (2c Choisir-Licence To Thrill by Wolfhound), himself a dual winner.

David Evans, who trains Eileen’s Violet, reported: "She probably wants six furlongs already and will stay further. I imagine we will go to Royal Ascot but we will have to think about which race."
