Peppertree continues great run for Peintre
21st May 2007
An excellent season for Peintre Celebre continued at Newbury on Saturday when Peppertree Lane (4c Peintre Celebre-Salonrolle by Tirol) carried Peter Savill’s colours to victory in a high-class renewal of the Listed paddypower.com Stakes.
The Mark Johnston-trained colt, a 180,000 euros yearling bred by Gestut Wittekindshof, impressed when beating Day Flight by three-quarters of a length.
"He's a typical Mark Johnston horse in that he will gallop all day, but he's different class on soft ground, and when the other two came at him he went again," said jockey Kevin Darley.
