Sixth Aussie Winner for Choisir

19th May 2007

Leading first season sire Choisir posted his sixth individual Australian winner when Urbanvue (2c Choisir – Synopsis, by Star Way) scored at Cheltenham on Saturday in the open event for juveniles over 1000 metres.

Ridden back in the field, Urbanvue unleashed a strong finishing burst to claim a neck win at his third race start for the Leon McDonald stable.

Bred by Streetscapes Bloodstock and not offered at public auction, Urbanvue is a half-brother to recent Adelaide stakes-winner Terravue, a winner of six races including the Listed SAJC Tokyo City Cup.

He is the third foal of the Star Way mare Synopsis, a winning half-sister to Group Two winner The Lions Roar, dam of Group Two winner Growl and stakes-winnner Leeu.

Choisir is the leading Australian first season sire by earnings and will stand the coming season at Coolmore Australia at a fee of $33,000.
