Choisir Awarded HTBA Champion First Season Sire

17th May 2007

The Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders Association staged their annual awards night at Scone racecourse on Wednesday evening with more than 300 people in attendance to celebrate the achievements of some outstanding thoroughbreds.

Coolmore’s Choisir was awarded Livestock Transport Champion First Season Sire with Tom Magnier on hand to accept the trophy.

Choisir is doing an exceptional job in both hemispheres taking on the global challenge in much the same way he did as a racehorse in posting Group One wins in Australia and at Royal Ascot against the best turf sprinters in the world.

The powerhouse chestnut son of Danehill Dancer is currently the leading Australian first season sire by earnings, holding a narrow margin over his Coolmore companion Rock of Gibraltar.

Choisir’s growing list of superior performers includes Group Two winner Incumbent, stakes-winner Hurried Choice and stakes-place getters Love’s Great, Choisism, Simplest, The Loan Express and Maxisun.

With first crop winners in Australia, England, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand and South Africa, Choisir is every inch the global stallion of the future.
