Soldier lands classic trial for Galileo

Soldier Of Fortune (3c Galileo-Affianced by Erins Isle) could head to the G1 Epsom Derby after battling on to land the G3 Dee Stakes at Chester from Arabian Sea (3c Sadler’s Wells-Wince by Selkirk). Another Galileo colt, Celestial Halo (3c Galileo-Pay The Bank by High Top, finished third.

The winner, who was bred by Jim Bolger and trained by Aidan O’Brien, impressed his jockey Mick Kinane.

"When you have a three-year-old like that, you have to respect it and if he improves 3-4lb he’ll be at the standard required for the Derby this year," said Kinane.
