Third Win for Kingsgate Glory

9th May 2007

Improving three year-old Kingsgate Glory (3c Fusaichi Pegasus – Tremone Bay by Last Tycoon) made it back-to-back wins at Happy Valley when taking out the Class Three event over 2200 metres on Wednesday evening.

The Tony Millard trained colt took control of proceedings from the outset and after dictating in front had his rivals off the bit when they straightened for home.

The striking bay kicked strongly in the run to the line going on to score by a length and a quarter.

A $250,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Ron McAnulty from the draft of Coolmore Stud, Kingsgate Glory has won three of eight starts with two placings and is thriving now he has stepped up over the longer journeys.

Kingsgate Glory is one of four winners from good producing Last Tycoon mare Tremone Bay, a sister to stakes-winner Touch of Mahogany, half-sister to champion griffin Lifeline Express and closely related to eight-time Group One winner Mahogany.

Coolmore sold the current yearling colt by Encosta de Lago from Tremone Bay for $300,000 at Easter this year to Tony Bott and after producing a full sister to that colt last spring she is back in foal to Encosta de Lago again.
