More G1 glory for Oscar

25th April 2007

Offshore Account (7g Oscar - Park Breeze by Strong Gale) brought more top-level glory for Oscar when winning the G1 Ellier Developments Hanover Quay Developments Novice Chase on day one of the Punchestown Festival.

Charlie Swan’s charge, bred by Daniel and Patrick Keating, was still in contention when Aces Four came down at the last fence and ran out an 11-length winner.

"He’s a very good mover and won during the winter on the worst ground you could imagine so I thought he must have a bit of class," said Swan.

"That’s it for the season and the Gold Cup would have to be a little bit at the back of our minds next year. He travelled very well and is a horse that will never win by too far because he’s always late getting to the front."

Oscar completed a Punchestown double when Wills Wilde (8g Oscar-Meadow Lane by Over The River), bred by R R Clarke, won the Gain Feeds Handicap Chase for Leighlinbridge handler Pat Fahy.
