Coolmore Sires Popular at Inglis Broodmare Sale

23rd April 2007

The 2007 Inglis Australian Select Broodmare Sale last week featured many outstanding mares and fillies with a significant number of the top selling lots offered with positive tests to Coolmore stallions.

Group Two winning mare Infinite Grace (Lot 968) was the highest priced offering on the fourth day of the sale, knocked down to the bid of Irish bloodstock agent Dermot Farrington at $850,000.

Closely related to dual Cox Plate winner Fields of Omagh, she was in foal to triple Group One winner Oratorio (pictured) , who covered 117 mares in his first season at stud in Australia last spring.

Brilliant mare Reactive (Lot 292), winner of seven races including the Group One MRC Oakleigh Plate made $775,000 in foal to champion sprinter Fastnet Rock, with Victorian agent Robert Roulston the successful bidder.

Celebrated producer Procrastinate (Lot 637) demanded plenty of attention after her yearling colt by Redoute’s Choice made $2million at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale the previous week.

She was snapped up by BBA, Ireland for $660,000 having been covered and tested in foal to outstanding sire Galileo.

Modest racemare Commands Nothin’ (Lot 530) benefited immensely from a positive test to leading sire Encosta de Lago in her first season at stud, with Eliza Park winning the young mare with a top bid of $620,000.

Another young mare with loads of upside was Hides (Lot 955), an unraced half-sister by Giant’s Causeway to outstanding performers Scintillation and Shania Dane.

Knocked down to New Zealand Bloodstock for $600,000, she was in foal to Danehill Dancer in her first season at stud.
