Another smart first-crop winner for Choisir

16th April 2007

Choisir continued his brilliant start to the 2007 season when Another Express (2c Choisir - Chantarella by Royal Academy) made an impressive winning debut against a field of blue-blooded maidens at the Curragh.

Bred by Liz Stack and trained by her husband Tommy for Peter Piller, the colt quickened in the final furlong to score easily by a length and a half.

"He was working well at home - we’ve always liked him and we’ll look at possibly a Listed race back here next month," said Fozzy Stack, assistant trainer to his father.

Another Express was quoted as 12/1 second favourite for the G2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot by Cashmans bookmakers with another Choisir colt, Fat Boy (2c Choisir - Gold Shift by Night Shift), the 5/1 favourite.

Meanwhile, Choisir has been shortened to 5/2 favouritism with the same company to be leading European first-season sire in 2007.
