FIRST FOALS FOR WESTERNER

On Monday night the Daniel Wildenstein-owned Arlesienne had a Westerner colt foal born at Coolmore Stud. A Listed winner by Alzao, Arlesienne is an own sister to the dual Group 1 winner Angara and a half sister to the Group 2 winner Actrice. Arlesienne’s dam Ange Bleu is a half sister to the dual Group 1 winner Breeders’ Cup Classic hero Arcangues and to the dam of triple Group 1 winner Aquarelliste. Manager Christy Grassick commented “he is a big, correct colt full of quality.”
Then on Tuesday Cattermole had a bay filly foal born at Cleaboy Stud. The Listed placed daughter of Roberto is dam of three Graded winners including Rigmarole, winner of the Bula Hurdle Group 2, and Fire Dragon, winner of the Cleeve Hurdle Group 2. Owner Sean Gorman described the foal as “a nice quality bay filly.”
