SADLER'S WELLS PROVIDES TOP TWO DECEMBER FOALS
1st December 2006
He is no stranger to sale-ring success and the great Sadler's Wells was responsible for the two most-expansive offerings at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale.
The top lot was a 420,000gns colt out of Sabria (by Miswaki) bred by Rockwell Bloodstock and consigned from Genesis Green Stud.
Demi O'Byrne signed for the colt, a half-brother to G1 Keeneland Mile and G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains winner Landseer (GB) (Danehill). "Landseer was an extremely good horse and this is a very good-looking colt," said O'Byrne after outbidding Denis Sheehy.
Camas Park Stud owner Timmy Hyde spent 370,000gns on a Sadler's Wells half-brother to G1 Prix Saint-Alary winner Cerulean Sky and G1 Breeders' Cup Filly And Mare Turf second L'Ancresse offered from the Britton House Stud dispersal.
"He's likely to be resold next year and it's a very solid page," said Hyde.
