DANEHILL DANCER-COVERED MARE MAKES 1.85 MILLION GNS
1st December 2006
It was a good day's business by anyone's standards. Specifically, bought by Julian Smith and Peter Gleeson for 50,000 euros at Goffs' November Sale in
2004 and covered by Danehill Dancer at Coolmore earlier this year, sold for an amazing 1.85 million gns at the Tattersalls December Sale on Wednesday.
Specifically's Danehill Dancer three-year-old daughter Speciosa subsequently won this season's G1 1000 Guineas while her Peintre Celebre half-sister Pride (6m Peintre Celebre - Specificity by Alleged) has won this season's G1 Champion Stakes and was a fast-finishing second in the G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
Specifically was bought for Klaus Jacobs' Newsells Park Stud in Hertfordshire by agent John Warren, who said: "She's was beautiful and you can't beat a classic-performing mare. They don't come up for sale very often."
