3 MILLION GNS SPINNING WORLD FILLY BREAKS RECORD
1st December 2006
Two months after she ran away with the G1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket by an amazing nine lengths, the Spinning World filly Spinning Queen became the dearest filly ever to pass through a European sale ring when realising 3 million gns at the Tattersalls December Sale.
Spinning Queen raced for her joint breeders - Richard and Lady Joanna Wellesley's Marston Stud along with Richard Bonnycastle - and was sold from Barry Hills' stable to James Wigan of London Thoroughbred Services, acting for the Rothschild family based at Waddesdon Stud in Buckinghamshire.
"It's a great pedigree and she was very impressive when winning at Newmarket," said Wigan.
